Amman, Jordan (May 2, 2018) - The Greater Amman Municipality and Help Age International conducted a voluntary agricultural day for the elderly in the area opposite the Shariah Mosque - Jabal Al Weibdeh in the presence of Barbara shenstone, Regional Director of Help Age International,Nancy Abu Hayyaneh, Director of Facilities and Social Programs Department at Greater Amman Municipality and the Director of Abdali district Atallah Al Ghurair with participation of nearly 30 elderlies.
This activity comes to enhance the participation of elderly in voluntary activities and providing support to them to form new social relationships through interesting and purposeful activities that are positively reflecting on the local community. The area opposite the Sharia Mosque has been cleaned by the elderly and also, adorned with nearly 300 trees of saplings and flowers.
Mr. Hisham Saeed Zaablawi, one of the participants in the voluntary agricultural day, said that, participating in such voluntary activities reflects positively on them and gives them a sense of happiness because they are still effective and able to complete the process of giving and serving their community. He added that he wishes to increase the interest in such events and activities concerned the elderly from various governmental and non-governmental authorities.
