Amman 31, October 2019 – HelpAge International in Jordan announced the opening of the Knowledge and Resources Hub/Community Center to receive the older people through the project “Leaving No One Behind, Stage II, where HelpAge International rehabilitated the Knowledge and Resource Hub that was opened in the first phase of the project in October 2017 in Amman; it was equipped with the necessary tools to be a safer and more suitable environment for older people in the local community. This rehabilitation process includes qualifying a reception desk equipped with a display and a server to enable older women men to watch TV programs and practice some different recreational activities such as playing chess, dice and cards in a hall equipped with the necessary tools to hold various activities such as training and awareness sessions and a computer lab equipped with a set of computers with a color printer to improve their computer skills and benefit from the internet service and other related activities in addition to a creativity room that has been designed to be a suitable space for carrying out creative activities such as embroidery, sewing and drawing where it will provide the necessary tools and trainers to implement these activities and the Sports room equipped with many sports equipment suitable for the older people to be able to practice some exercises under the supervision of specialists. In addition to the presence of a nutrition clinic equipped with equipment such as a body analysis device, a body mass index measurement device and a fat-breaking machine under the supervision of a nutritionist, which will provide the necessary advice and guidance. It is worth noting that the facilities of the community center are suitable for the use of older people and those with special needs, and the use of the community center will be free of charge for all older men and women in Jordan of all nationalities.
